I'm Gonna Miss....

I'm gonna miss these chubby legs this fall and winter. I love little chubby baby legs so much. They are so soft and cute and rolly polly.

Fire Trucks and Pumpkin Patch

It was fire safety week a couple weeks ago and the library had Firemen come and have a presentation for the kids. Lilly loves hearing fire trucks go by and says they are going to help someone. And she sometimes says she wants to be a firefighter. So I thought she would enjoy seeing the firetruck.

We took the kids to Stehli Farm for family night and we had a lot of fun. They have a pumpkin patch and hay ride and other fun things for kids. It was a good night.

I LOVE FALL

I have been buying these small pumpkins for years now, to make my first pumpkin pie of the season. I always look forward to when they get them in the produce department so I can plan when to make one and devour it with my family. Too bad my little ones can't eat it yet, they are missing out. Lilly loves to bake with me and we have fun together.

2 Months Old

Our babies are now two months old. They have spent these months putting on weight and sleeping alot.

We had their doctor appointment this week. Bella weighs 11 pounds even, which is the 50Th percentile. She is 22 3/4 in long- 61 percentile. So that means she is average for her age. Her neck is still a little weak but normal for her age. She gives me precious smiles periodically that bring me great joy. She is perfectly content to sit and stare at people for long periods of time. She is usually very quiet and peaceful but can be a drama queen when she is hungry.

Tristan weighs 13 pounds 11 ounces- 87% and 24 1/4 in.- 88%. He is a fast grower just like Lilly. His neck is alot stronger. He also is giving more and more smiles which light up his normally grumpy face. He is my grumbler and is always grunting or just plain crying all the time he is awake. But he at least sleeps alot. This past week he has been getting more happy while awake, so I think I will soon be getting more relief from that phase.

Some days are hard when I just get one calm and the other starts crying, all day long. They keep me busy and I sometimes feel like I am always feeding them. But then I get a great day or I have someone helping me and I am able to recover and enjoy my family. It has been hard stepping into the role of mother of three and learning to juggle so many needs but I am taking it in strides. They are a lot more wakeful lately and I am in the process of getting them on a sleep schedule during the day. At night they are sleeping really well and some nights I can get as much as 5 to 6 hours in a row. They are already competitive when it comes to eating. They have learned that the loudest eats first if I'm not in the mood to tandem feed them. It is alot to adjust to but I would not trade this experience for anything. I consider myself extreemly blessed to have these beautiful, healthy babies and to raise them and witness them learn and develope.

Blessing Day

We blessed the twins when they were six weeks old. We had lots of family come from far away to be there. We feel so loved and it was so great to see everyone. It was a beautiful day and Bella and Tristan looked like angels in their white outfits.

Newborn Pictures

We really wanted to get professional pictures taken and so we chose Blue Iris Photography to take them. She is such a great photographer and got a lot of great shots and even got some natural smiles out of Lilly. These were taken at one week old.

Big Sister Lilly

We prepared her well, Lilly loves her baby brother and sister. She has so far shown no jealousy. The only thing is that all she wants to do now is smother them. She barely plays with any of her toys anymore. We always have to keep an eye on her so she doesn't cut off their oxygen.

First Night and First Baths

Our first night home wasn't too bad. We were able to get some sleep and they like to be next to each other. We gave them their first baths at home and Bella doesn't mind as much as Tristan. He always yells during bath time. Bella is pretty relaxed until she gets out.

Bringing Home Babies

After staying 3 days in the hospital, we were finally released. Our stay wasn't too bad, though. All the nurses loved us and the babies were healthy enough to stay in our room with us unlike the other two sets of twins born that same weekend. I carried them to 39 weeks and was breastfeeding them both, so we were a novelty to all the nurses. The only thing that delayed our leaving was that Bella needed to go under billi lights for a day because she was a little too jaundice. But it started to clear up and we were able to go home and start our lives with twins.
