First Night and First Baths

Our first night home wasn't too bad. We were able to get some sleep and they like to be next to each other. We gave them their first baths at home and Bella doesn't mind as much as Tristan. He always yells during bath time. Bella is pretty relaxed until she gets out.

Bringing Home Babies

After staying 3 days in the hospital, we were finally released. Our stay wasn't too bad, though. All the nurses loved us and the babies were healthy enough to stay in our room with us unlike the other two sets of twins born that same weekend. I carried them to 39 weeks and was breastfeeding them both, so we were a novelty to all the nurses. The only thing that delayed our leaving was that Bella needed to go under billi lights for a day because she was a little too jaundice. But it started to clear up and we were able to go home and start our lives with twins.

The Twins are Here

Our twins don't look much alike to me. I can't decide who Bella looks like but she definitely has my long toes and fingers. She has such small dainty features and makes noises like a kitten. Tristan definitely looks like Clifford's side. When I saw him, I thought he looked like Lilly but more boyish. He is always tense and turns red when he gets mad. They are pretty good so far. They just eat sleep and fill diapers. Some nights are better than others but we are all surviving. Lilly loves them so much and always wants to do anything to help them. so far, life with twins and a toddler is very busy but I am blessed to have so much help.

Sorry it has taken me so long to add a new post. I'm sure you are all understanding of my new busy life. I barely get a free moment to myself, as i am constantly feeding someone. This is me just hours before i literally BURST. Our C-section was scheduled at 7 am on the 9th of July. But our babies had other plans. At 12:50 am I returned to bed after a trip to the bathroom. The second I got comfortable, I felt a little gush and knew it wasn't pee. I immediately jumped out of bed saying "you gotta be kidding me." The day before, I had been joking that they better not try and come that night now that my mind was prepared for them to come at 7am. I guess if there is one thing I've learned this pregnancy, it is to not joke around because everything i joke about has really happened. Anyways, I looked down as i was beginning to gush and saw that it was not just water, it was bright red blood. I ran to the bathroom and the floor began to puddle with bloody water, my pink shorts tuning red. I was calm but I quickly had Clifford call the hospital and they sounded concerned and told us to rush right over. I wasn't in any pain so i was hoping everything was ok. Luckily my mother-in-law was already staying with us, so we left her with Lilly and sped to the hospital. when we got there, the nurses saw what we described and looked shocked. they called our doctors and started hooking me up to everything and getting me preped. Through all this, I was calm, just praying, until one nurse was looking for heartbeats and wasn't finding Bella's fast enough. she moved on to looking for Tristan's and then went back for Bella's. Clifford and I looked at each other and tears were coming. I imagined the worst because it was her sac that broke cause she was baby A, the first to come out. Finally, after what felt like forever, she found the heartbeat. We were so relieved. After that our doctors arrived and everything went quickly from there. At 2:26 Bella was born via emergency C-section. she weighed 6 pounds 5 oz and was 19 1/2 inches long. She was perfect and breathing and healthy. At 2:27 am Tristan was born and he was 7 pounds 7 oz and 21 inches long. He was great too. I was so happy. Turns out the bleeding was nothing serious except that i lost alot, but i was just fine. and the C-section went well and better than I anticipated. Overall, it was a good birth and we are all happy that our twins are here and healthy.

37 Weeks

So, there is no progression. The babies are very comfortable in me and don't want to come out yet. I was a little dissapointed at first because everyone said that full term for twins is 37 weeks, so that is what i was expecting at the most. It is in the 100's everyday here and i am measuring 48 centimeters, so i am super uncomfortable. But my doctor wants me to go all the way to 39 weeks if the babies will stay in. He said most don't make it past 35, and 37 is a blessing, so 39 is terrific! So i choose to focus on the possitive. They will be very healthy and big. My babies are estimated to weigh over 6.5 pounds each so far. My C-section date is set for July 9th because baby A is breech and hasn't got much chance of moving. Everything is looking good and i hardly have any contractions, so i most likely am having them on that day. Please wish me luck with the major surgery! I can't wait to see my babies!! Only 1 1/2 weeks left.

35+ Weeks!

I am currently over 35 weeks pregnant! Last week we had our last major ultrasound and they were estimating our babies to weigh over 5 pounds each, which is right on for the growth of a single pregnancy! Our doctors are optamistic that we could even go as for as 39 weeks if we wish(not sure my hips can take it, though). If we go that far, our babies could weigh up to 6.5-7 pounds each! The ultrasounds start to look more like white blurs by this point because the bones are getting denser and so we didn't get any good pictures. But everything is still going well and progressing nicely. I was measuring 43 centimeters(single preg. only go to 40). I'm to the point where I am miserably uncomfortable most of the time, so these next few weeks are bound to go by terribly slow. The babies still haven't made up their minds which possition they want to be in but they are still always moving around, so i am still hoping for a vaginal delivery. Wish me luck either way.
(p.s. how do you like my "tiger stripes"?)

Good Luck Aunt Sandra and Uncle Dan

Clifford's Aunt and Uncle recently left to serve a Mission, for our church, in Russia. We went to their farewell before they left and spent a really nice day visiting with family. We are going to miss them but we wish them all the best and we really appreciate what good role-models they are to all around them.

Family Time

We had a family get-together with alot of Clifford's family. His brother and sister-in-law were in town and so were lots of his cousins and his Aunts and Uncles live near by so we took advantage of family being close and invited everyone to a pizza party. It was so good to visit with family, i really feel like I have always been a part of this great family.

4 years of Joy

We recently celebrated our fourth wedding anniversary! I can't believe how fast the years are moving. Married life has been so wonderful for me because I found the man who was meant for me and we love and respect each other. We talk about everything in our lives and work out disagreements and work together in our parenting. Clifford is the best husband for me and he makes me happy just by being who he is. He make me so proud by working so hard on his schooling and he only has a few classes left until he earns his associates degree. He helps me in every way possible and is always by my side when I need him. He is the best father and Lilly can be such a daddy's girl. We are enjoying every second together and we look forward to many many more years together for all eternity!

Vacation!

We went on a much needed vacation last weekend. First we went to Logan, Utah to visit my Brother and Sister-in-law. We spent a day with them and had lots of fun. Then we went to the Hogle Zoo with my longtime best friend and her kids. Lilly had a lot of fun see them and all the animals. There was a baby elephant and it was so cute. We also went to the mall and got really jelous by how nice it is compared to our tiny one. They have a train ride and a carosel and playplace for kids. We spent the last day with my friend and her family, visiting and enjoying their food and company.
